Design:
The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty design, originally introduced in 1916. Lady Liberty strides confidently toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag, symbolizing freedom, strength, and optimism. She carries branches of laurel and oak, representing civil and military glory. The inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the date “2012.”

The reverse displays the classic heraldic eagle design used on American Silver Eagles from 1986 through 2021. A powerful eagle with outstretched wings holds an olive branch and arrows, symbolizing peace and strength, with a shield on its chest. Above the eagle are 13 stars representing the original colonies, with inscriptions reading “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER – ONE DOLLAR,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

Purity & Trust:
Struck from 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, the American Silver Eagle is guaranteed by the U.S. government for weight and purity. It carries a legal tender face value of $1, though its intrinsic silver value far exceeds this amount.

Collectability:
The 2012 issue is a highly liquid and widely traded bullion coin, making it ideal for stacking, long-term investment, or inclusion in a U.S. Mint collection. Its universal recognition ensures strong demand in both retail and secondary markets.

Craftsmanship:
Produced by the United States Mint with exceptional detail and strike quality, the American Silver Eagle is renowned for its sharp imagery and timeless design. This piece reflects the Mint’s long-standing reputation for precision and quality.

History:
First introduced in 1986, the American Silver Eagle program was created to provide investors access to U.S. government-backed silver bullion. The 2012 release continues this legacy, combining historic American artistry with modern bullion standards.
